General Information

Centre Operation

Hoebridge Golf Centre is owned and operated by Burhill Group Limited (BGL).  The company also operates ten other golf centres across the country. All membership fees and subsequent green fees are paid to BGL.

Hoebridge Golf Club

Hoebridge Golf Club (HGC) is an independent body run by its members for the benefit of its members.  It is the principal customer of Hoebridge Golf Centre and operates with the full knowledge, co-operation and support of BGL.  BGL provides HGC with everything reasonably necessary to carry on as a golf club, including the provision and maintenance of golf courses, and hospitality and catering facilities.

HGC is administered by volunteers elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The Club constitution, a copy of which can be found on the Club website, sets out the rules governing the running of the Club. The Management Committee is the Club's governing body although most golfing matters are devolved to the Men’s and Ladies' Committees.  A full list of the committees, committee members and their responsibilities is contained on the Club website and in the Club diary.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Club is normally held in the last week of November. Members are encouraged to attend as it is their chance to influence how Club matters are conducted.

Annual Presentation and Dinner

This is an important night in the Club's year.  Major competition winners are presented with their prizes by the Captains and the nominated charities are presented with cheques for the funds raised by the Club's Charity Committee.  It is hoped that as many members as possible will attend.

Notice Boards

Increasingly, the Club's activities are dealt with through the website.  Some details are, however, still posted on the notice boards.  These are located in the foyer of the clubhouse between the pro shop and the driving range. They display competition start sheets and results, and provide information on club fixtures, and upcoming social, charity and other Club events. Temporary local rules and other important golf related information are also posted on these boards. Please note that information posted on the website and notice boards takes precedence over information contained in the diary.

Post Boxes

A number of post boxes are located beneath the notice boards near the door to the putting green. These are for written communications to the officers of the Club committees, etc. There are also boxes for Men’s and Ladies' competitions and 'For Handicap', into which all competition score cards and those cards being submitted for obtaining a handicap should be placed. Failure to place a card in the correct box could result in disqualification from the competition or the card not being received for handicap calculation.

Membership Levels

Any reference to members playing in competitions is limited to their membership level, eg 5 day members are not eligible to play in any Saturday/Sunday competitions (unless otherwise specified).
