Hoebridge Golf Centre

Hoebridge Golf Centre is part of Burhill Group Ltd, a Private company owned by members of the Guinness Family, which was  founded in 1926 to manage the estates of the then Lord Iveagh.  Over the years the Company has diversified and now has three divisions:

BGL Golf, BGL Leisure and BGL Estates.
The first of the BGL Golf properties was Burhill Golf Club, Walton on Thames which was opened on Burhill Park in 1907 using the Georgian Mansion as a Clubhouse.  BGL launched into Pay & Play Golf in 1982 with the building of Hoebridge Golf Centre on an estate near Woking. The high demand for affordable and ‘no commitment golf’ led to huge success at Hoebridge and the decision to develop further into the Pay & Play market.

Since 1992 Burhill Group Limited has acquired six further golf centres and more recently purchased two Hertfordshire Golf Clubs in 2006.

Hoebridge Golf Club

The Hoebridge Centre recognised that there was a demand for a “golf club” that could cater for the needs of customers who wanted to organise and join in competitions, play matches against other clubs, arrange social and recreational activities etc. as might be found at other golf clubs.  Together with interested members it established the Hoebridge Golf Club in 1984, to cover activities on its main course.

The club currently has over 450 members and has a lively golfing and social calendar.
